Homeowner FAQs
How do I shut off the water to my house in an emergency?
In the event of a burst pipe or severe leak, locating your main water shut-off valve is critical. In most El Paso homes, the main shut-off is located in your front yard near the street curb inside a meter box. Some newer homes also have an emergency shut-off valve located inside the garage or on an exterior wall. We highly recommend locating this valve before an emergency happens.
Why is my water bill suddenly so high?
A sudden spike in your water bill is usually the first sign of a hidden leak. The most common culprit is a "silent" running toilet, which can waste hundreds of gallons a day. However, it can also indicate a severe underground slab leak or a broken irrigation line. If you notice a spike, call us immediately for leak detection.
Will you install a faucet or toilet that I purchased myself?
Yes, absolutely! We frequently perform "labor-only" installations for customers who have already purchased their own fixtures from Home Depot, Lowe's, or Amazon. Please note that while we warranty our installation labor, we cannot warranty the customer-supplied part itself against manufacturer defects.
How does El Paso's hard water affect my home's plumbing?
El Paso has notoriously hard water, which contains high levels of calcium and magnesium. Over time, these minerals create a chalky white scale that destroys the internal components of toilets, clogs showerheads, and ruins the bottom of water heater tanks. We highly recommend an annual water heater flush to remove this damaging sediment.
Do you charge an hourly rate for residential repairs?
No. We believe hourly rates punish the homeowner. Instead, Triad Plumbing uses a flat-rate, upfront pricing system. Our technician will diagnose the issue and hand you a firm price to fix it. If the job takes us two hours longer than we expected, you do not pay a single penny more.
